Liam,

I called my friend Annie to see3 what she might recommend for you, as she has lived with a friend with cancer.

Annie may have been pressed for time to say more, so I hope the brief answer which follows may help.

"[She should] Do whatever she likes, and be selfish.
Don't worry about anything.
Make it a point to see your [her] favorite friends, soon, while she is still feeling sociable {which may be difficult later)."

Harsh advice, but based on actual experience.

Perhaps later I can ask for more words when Annie is relaxed.
